Want to expand the business type that has grown during the COVID pandemic.

The company has expanded the scope of its operations through the introduction of the UCJV300 and other equipment. They plans to continue to grow its digital printing business.

Although mainly engaged in painting by hand, we have more orders for signboard that has been outsourced. To respond to delivery time and to perform minor design change efficiently, in-house production has become necessary. With our skilled employees nearing retirement, we aimed for standardization by machine.

The first inkjet printer we installed is Mimaki's UCJV300-160. There are many jobs with short delivery times, and the UV printer that requires no drying time has good work efficiency and is appreciated by customers as well. Its cutting function is also appealing, which enables the printer to play two roles, allowing us to reduce the installation space and make our business extensive.

Although having responded to sheet-type advertisements such as outdoor graphics, outside posters, wallpaper, and graphics on floor, we were in need of another way of production as more requests for three-dimensional sign displays and sales promotion items for stores.

UV print using UCJV300-160 allows us to respond to various media. We were impressed by beautiful color development of Mimaki's white ink whose color density is high with no color mixture. It is used on wrapping film for vehicles, as well as on wallpaper and window film.

Our main job is production of construction signboards and safety signs, of which delivery time is as short as 2-3 days. In spite of such short delivery time, because of over 24h of required drying time of solvent ink printing, we had kept some customers waited.

The UV printer UCJV300-130 requires no ink drying time. It allows to attach the printed sheet on the construction signboard right after printing, which improved the work efficiency. Having the cutting function, it supports small lot production and contributes to cost reduction when producing products like stickers used at construction sites.

We would like to introduce an inkjet printer and a cutting plotter to realize full digitalization of sticker and label production.

Mimaki's printers are quite convenient to use. Particularly, UCJV300-75 is excellent in cost performance compared to other companies' products. Our company has boosted its business performance as a rare digital specialist in the sticker and label industry, and has a plan to establish its 3rd factory in the near future. We also expect to enhance our online sales and develop new products following the face stickers.

Couldn't find any satisfactory UV printer products capable of handling solvent-based prints at the product price, processing speed and running cost we required. We were also looking for products compatible with the recently increasing synthetic and wallpaper printing work.

UCJV300-160 cleared all problems. With a high output speed and requiring no drying time, the printer can handle quick turn-arounds speedily. Stable operation of the product allows unmanned night-shifts. With enhanced processing capability, we aim to acquire more things to do.

Since our existing UV printer for creating soft packaging samples causes color unevenness, we want to make a replacement purchase. Printing quality should be as high as that of gravure printing in mass production.

UCJV300-75 has cleared our requirements such as speed, color reproduction, supported media, and availability. Although we introduced a Mimaki product for the first time, we were able to complete smooth switch to the printer with no trouble.

Introduction of roll-type UCJV300-160 allows us to respond to soft material printing. When compared to addition of JFX200, we could reduce installation space and introduction cost, so introduced UCJV300-107 as the second machine. By using this printer and the flatbed JFX200 differently depending on the material, productivity has increased across the company.

Owner John Privitera says he initially wanted to replace one of the company’s eco-solvent machines with two of the same platform. But a must have was an increase in production output but not sacrificing print quality.

A BATHING APE®

We opened a workshop "BAPEⓇPRINTING WORK SHOP" aiming to print and cut custom-name stickers with our "UCJV300-75".

We want to omit laminating and shorten the processes for short-term signboards, and perform high-density printing on colored materials. We are also concerned about letters being scratched in jobs using sewing machine, such as banners.

Introduction of UCJV300 realized omission of laminating process in short-term signboard jobs. High-density printing enabled us to print only letter parts on colored materials, which also helped us to reduce the ink cost significantly. We came to see almost no scratches in the sewing process of banners, which raised the quality.

We want to introduce a machine mounted with white ink. Also, there is a need to handle increasing window-related jobs efficiently.

Introduction of UCJV300 enabled us to meet requests for short-term delivery of same day shipping, and to enhance our powers of expression in window decorations using white ink. We could reduce our stress by shifting jobs using white ink to in-house production.

As we are engaged in many roll jobs, we want to shorten the work process by use of UV. We outsource jobs requiring white ink, which we want to perform in-house.

Introduction of UCJV300 increased our productivity substantially. We succeeded not only in shifting jobs using white ink to in-house production, but also in enhancing the quality. We gained the capability to perform printing on colored materials and transparent materials with high density and high quality.

As our jobs using aqueous inkjet printer are decreasing, we want to shift to different type of printers. We also want to reduce the cost and risk by omitting laminating process.

Substantial cost down was achieved by shifting to UV inkjet printer. UV supports wide variety of materials, and brought us flexibility to print on wallpaper and transparent media, which was not possible before.
